Advanced Classification

Using a strategic accounting design, we focus on simplifying and cleaning up your chart of accounts and using advanced classification methods to create reportable details from your operations. Varying subscription levels of QuickBooks Online offer different classification options, which we use to track performance and extract reporting data. Beyond the basics of the Chart of Accounts, Customer and Vendor assignments, we use methods such as Locations, Class tracking, Product & Service mapping, Project-specific income and expenses, and Tag Groups and Tags.

Locations are a useful classification system for logical operating divisions. Also used for Divisions, Departments, Territories, Stores, or Properties.

Project-assigned transactions allow you to run P&L reports on specific efforts, always tied to a customer.

Classes are a logical method of categorization that can be customized in anyway that suits your needs. Ex: Industries Served, Restricted Funds, or Seasonality.

Similar to hashtags in social media, tag groups and tags provide customized groupings of keywords associated with transactions.
